Poetry

05 Jun

Authentic pieces put together
Of landscapes, sceneries and the weather
As light as the mannerisms of a feather
Yet undautingly strong as leather…

Of fields, escarpments & plain lands
Of the wind, springs, the Witwatersrand
Endearing as the hold of a lover’s hands
To the ears as music from a band

This is poetry

Words cascading across literary country sides,
Where a poet’s freedom none can chide,
As rhythms of rhyme in contextual heavens glide
Layman, poet, all & sundry hike a ride

This is my course, blazing and true
This is my aura, flaring brand new
This is my dream, nurtured by few
This is my world, daring you too…

This is poetry.
